Boulderwelt München Ost grades, explained

Boulderwelt München Ost is a bouldering gym on Hanne-Hiob-Straße in Munich's Werksviertel, near Ostbahnhof. It belongs to the Boulderwelt chain, which runs three Munich halls (Ost, West, Süd) plus gyms in other German cities. The hall has about 3,000 m² of indoor floor space, over 1,500 m² of bouldering surface and more than 300 boulders on walls 2.5–4.5 m high, plus a kids' area, Moonboard and a rooftop café.

Bouldering grades

Boulders are graded in nine levels, 1 (easy) to 9 (very hard). Each level covers a Fontainebleau range. The level number is printed on round cards: two cards mark the start holds and one marks the top. Hold colour says nothing about difficulty. Boulders on the competition wall also get an individual Font grade.
