Boulderwelt Hamburg opened on the weekend of 21–22 December 2024 on the ground floor of the IBM building at Berliner Tor, about 10 minutes' walk from Hamburg Hauptbahnhof. It has about 2,500 m² of floor space, 1,600 m² of bouldering surface and about 250 boulders on walls 3–4.5 m high, plus a kids' world, a mixed area, a training area with a Kilter Board, a Moonboard and a spray wall, and a café. There is no parking of its own.

Bouldering grades

Boulders are graded in nine levels, 1 (easy) to 9 (very hard). Each level covers a Fontainebleau range. The level number is printed on round cards: two cards mark the start holds and one marks the top. Hold colour says nothing about difficulty. Boulders on the competition wall also get an individual Font grade.
