The Spot Golden grades, explained
The Spot Golden opened in 2021 at 1391 Brickyard Road, about two miles from Clear Creek Canyon and within walking distance of restaurants and breweries. It is a bouldering gym of about 11,000 sq ft with walls up to 18 feet; upstairs are a Kilter Board, a Tension Board, hangboards and a fitness area.
Bouldering grades
The Spot uses its own 'Spot Scale': each problem is marked with 1 to 5 red spots, with + and - to split levels further. 1 spot is the easiest (about VB) and 5+ the hardest (about V11). The gym gives an official V-grade conversion.
