The Spot Denver grades, explained
The Spot Denver is a bouldering gym in Denver's Golden Triangle neighbourhood and one of The Spot's five gyms around Denver and Boulder. It has about 19,000 sq ft of climbing with walls up to 18 feet, plus a weights area, yoga and beer on tap. Rope climbing isn't offered here; The Spot's rope walls are at its Louisville and Thornton gyms.
Bouldering grades
The Spot uses its own 'Spot Scale': each problem is marked with 1 to 5 red spots, with + and - to split levels further. 1 spot is the easiest (about VB) and 5+ the hardest (about V11). The gym gives an official V-grade conversion.
