Hyperion grades, explained

Hyperion is a Touchstone Climbing bouldering gym at 801 Willow Street in Redwood City, on the San Francisco Peninsula. Touchstone lists 10,700 sq ft of bouldering on 16-foot walls with 250+ problems, plus yoga and fitness classes. Rope walls are listed as 'coming soon'. It is the only Touchstone gym that grades boulders with colour circuits instead of single V-grades.

Bouldering grades

Boulders use a seven-colour circuit system: each start tag shows the climb's circuit colour on a red-to-white strip, and each colour covers a V-range. Touchstone says it uses circuits because the wider ranges suit more climbers and echo Fontainebleau's colour circuits.
