Boulder Co. Hamilton grades, explained
Boulder Co.'s Hamilton gym, at 15 Maxwell Place in Te Rapa, opened in 2024 and marked its first birthday in March 2025. It has two adjustable LED MoonBoards (25° and 40°), a free-weights and cardio area, and a café and bar with Hallertau beer and cider on tap. Minimum age is 5 to climb and 18 for the fitness gym.
Bouldering grades
Every climb carries a number from 1 (easiest) to 8, and each number covers a range of difficulty. Boulder Co.'s grade chart maps the numbers onto V-grades (below) and Font grades (in the notes). A '?' tag marks a mystery grade that can be anything. The chart says grades are indicative only.
