T-UP Climbing Gym grades, explained

原岩攀岩館

T-UP Climbing (原岩攀岩館) runs climbing gyms in greater Taipei; its branch pages date it to August 2015 (its About page says 2016). It now has five gyms: bouldering gyms in Wanhua, Nangang and Mingde (Beitou), a roped-climbing gym in Zhonghe, and a mixed roped and bouldering gym in Xindian. Its A19 gym in Taoyuan closed on 31 August 2026, with a Zhongli branch planned. Boulders are graded on the V scale.

Bouldering grades

Problems are graded on the V scale, from VB up to about V7/V8. The tags on start and finish holds are colour-coded by grade. A 2024 visitor's blog gives white for VB and green for V1, with yellow one step above white. Colours for harder grades were not found; the gym posts its current colour key on site.

LevelV-scale≈ Font
白 WhitePer a 2024 visitor's blogVB3
黃 YellowInferred: blog calls it one step above white, below green (V1)V04B–4B+
綠 GreenPer a 2024 visitor's blogV15A–5B

T-UP Climbing Gym doesn't say so outright, but its gyms appear to share this grading. From climbers' descriptions and photos of the gym's grade boards. Gyms reset and regrade often, and grades vary between setters, so treat this as a guide and check the boards when you visit.
