Seoul Forest Climbing Yeongdeungpo grades, explained

서울숲클라이밍 영등포점

Seoul Forest Climbing (서울숲클라이밍) is a Seoul bouldering chain with branches in Ttukseom, Yeongdeungpo, Guro, Jamsil and Jongno (as listed in 2024). The Yeongdeungpo branch is on the ground floor at 164 Mullae-ro, about 430 m from Exit 4 of Mullae Station, and opened in December 2022. A regular describes five sectors reset weekly, plus a small endurance and lesson wall and a training corner with hangboards.

Bouldering grades

Problems are graded by colour in ten steps, from pink (easiest) to black (hardest), the same order at every branch. The gym publishes no V-grades, so the ranges below are an estimate that spreads the ten colours over about VB to V8+, nudged by a few climber comparisons; Korean climbers describe Seoul Forest as grading stiffly.

Seoul Forest Climbing's gyms appear to share this grading, though Seoul Forest Climbing doesn't say so outright. All Seoul Forest Climbing gyms and grades

Estimated by Gear Loop. The gym publishes only the order of its colours, so these ranges are our best guess from its chart and climbers' descriptions. Gyms reset and regrade often, and grades vary between setters, so treat this as a guide and check the boards when you visit.
