The Front Climbing Club South Main grades, explained

The Front South Main opened in 2020 at 4140 South Main Street in Millcreek, near the original Salt Lake City gym. It has 15,500 sq ft of rope climbing on two 60-foot freestanding towers and over 9,000 sq ft of bouldering across three floors, plus a 2019 MoonBoard, a Grasshopper board and a spray wall. It also has saunas, a jiu-jitsu dojo, a sand volleyball court and a dog run.

Bouldering grades

A coloured dot at the start of each climb marks its difficulty band. From easiest to hardest they are yellow, blue, green, pink, red and black, which The Front calls 'hard… Yoda hard'. Posters in the gym give the numeric ranges, but the website doesn't. The V ranges below are our estimate, spreading the six dots over a typical VB–V10 range in the published order.
