GOAT Climbing GOAT 2.0 (Xujiahui, TPY Center) grades, explained

GOAT Climbing has two gyms in Shanghai: GOAT 2.0 in the TPY Center at Xujiahui, with direct metro access, and GOAT 1.0 in Putuo. GOAT 2.0 has bouldering plus top-rope and lead walls, a training area, showers and a work area. SmartShanghai notes that shoes, harnesses and liquid chalk are free to use and that the gym is pet-friendly.
Bouldering grades
Boulders use GOAT's own G grades (G1, G2, G3 and up). SmartShanghai calls them roughly comparable to V grades but not equivalent. A visiting climber put the V grade 0.5 to 1 below the G number (G5 about V4, top grade G7 about V6). The ranges below use that 'G minus 1' rule of thumb; it is not an official conversion.
