Banana Climbing Link CentralWalk grades, explained
Banana Climbing (香蕉攀岩) is a bouldering gym chain in China: Qian Xiaolei opened the first one in Beijing in 2020 and then expanded nationwide. This Shenzhen gym is inside the Link CentralWalk mall at Convention & Exhibition Center Metro station in Futian, two stops from the Futian border crossing with Hong Kong. It rents climbing shoes and has chalk free to use.
Bouldering grades
Problems are marked with coloured tape, from grey (easiest) to black, and you climb on the holds of one colour to the top. A visitor's 2024 review of this gym gives one V-grade per colour. A 2026 TMTPost article says Banana has built its own 20-level bouldering scale, so these colour grades may be simplified.
