Block'Out Metz grades, explained

Opened in March 2019 in Augny, just south of Metz. It has 1,600 m² with 700 m² of climbing surface: about 150 boulders on 30 wall profiles, reset every three to four weeks, and training beams. Unlike most Block'Out gyms it has a snack bar rather than a full restaurant, plus a fitness room, sauna and climbing shop. From Metz station, take bus L1 or C17 to Moulins Tournebride, then N84b to ZAC d'Augny.

Bouldering grades

Block'Out uses its own numbered scale, B1 (easiest) to B14, instead of grading by hold colour. Block'Out does not publish Font equivalents. Third-party sources agree that, above about 5C, each B step is roughly one Font step, but they differ on where the scale starts. The levels below follow Kaskad Coaching's table (2026); each level's note gives an older forum mapping (2016).
