BlocHaus Marrickville grades, explained
BlocHaus Marrickville is a bouldering gym at 49 Fitzroy St, Marrickville, in Sydney's inner west; BlocHaus also runs a Leichhardt gym and gyms in Canberra and Melbourne. The Marrickville gym has about 850 m² of Blocz climbing surface, a 12×12 adjustable Kilter Board and an air-conditioned upstairs training gym.
Bouldering grades
Boulders are graded by hold colour, from blue (easiest) through red, purple, black and yellow to white (hardest), and neighbouring colours overlap on BlocHaus's chart. BlocHaus doesn't publish V-grades, so the ranges below are our estimate: we spread the six colours over the range bouldering gyms usually set (VB to about V10), keeping the order and overlaps on BlocHaus's colour chart and its competition divisions, which pair blue and red, purple and black, and yellow and white.
