Attic V grades, explained

Attic V is an independent bouldering gym in Wong Chuk Hang on Hong Kong Island, open since 2015. It moved to larger premises in 2017, now in Derrick Industrial Building, and lists over 100 problems, a training area with a MoonBoard and, since 2022, a climbing treadmill. It is run by founder Gwie, a national route-setter, and Joanna, a former Hong Kong team climber.

Bouldering grades

Problems are marked with coloured tape and graded directly on the V scale. Grades are written on a blackboard, so a tape colour identifies a problem rather than a fixed grade band. This comes from a climber's 2016 review; the gym's site does not describe its grading.
