Arkose Nation grades, explained

Arkose Nation is a bouldering gym and restaurant at 35 Rue des Grands Champs in Paris's 20th arrondissement. It occupies a former factory that made school smocks, under an early-20th-century glass roof. The gym has more than 200 boulders in two main zones, 'la fosse' and 'la halle Eiffel', plus a warm-up area and an Ecotable-labelled canteen. It is part of the Arkose chain, which has many gyms in France and Spain.

Bouldering grades

Arkose grades boulders with colours. Its own guide lists six levels from Yellow (introduction) to Violet (expert); a third-party table also places White below Yellow. Arkose does not publish Font equivalents, so the grades below come from a third-party conversion table.
