The Climb grades, explained

더클라임

The Climb (더클라임) is a bouldering gym chain in Seoul and Gyeonggi, run by The Wall Climbing (더월클라이밍). Its branches include Ilsan, Magok, Yangjae, Sillim, Yeonnam, Gangnam, Sadang, Nonhyeon, Mullae, Isu and Seongsu. Like most Korean gyms, it marks how hard each problem is with a colour rather than a grade.

Bouldering grades

Each problem's difficulty is shown by colour, from white (easiest) to black. The Climb doesn't publish V-grades; the ranges below come from a Korean climbing guide (May 2026), which says the colours and their grades vary a little between branches and setting seasons.

The Climb doesn't say so outright, but its gyms appear to share this grading. From climbers' descriptions and photos of the gym's grade boards. Gyms reset and regrade often, and grades vary between setters, so treat this as a guide and check the boards when you visit.
