Colorful Rock grades, explained
カラフルロック
Colorful Rock is a bouldering gym at 3-14 Sunari-cho in Minato-ku, Nagoya, with free on-site parking. It has eight bouldering walls about 35 m wide in total, with angles from 80° to 170°, and a permanently installed MoonBoard (2016 set).
Bouldering grades
Problems use the Japanese kyu/dan scale, and the gym marks each problem's grade with coloured tape. Its own grade guide gives approximate V and Font equivalents for each kyu/dan band, while stressing that no official conversion exists. The tape colour for each grade is not published online.
