Boulder Movement grades, explained
Boulder Movement (BM) is a Singapore bouldering chain that opened its first gym at OUE Downtown Gallery in 2017 and marked its 9th anniversary in August 2026. It runs four gyms (Bugis, Downtown, Rochor and Tai Seng), all booked through one session-slot system, and has announced that Downtown, its first outlet, will close after 15 November 2026 because of rising operating costs. Problems are graded with overlapping colour circuits instead of single V-grades, and one setting team fully resets each gym every five weeks.
Bouldering grades
Problems are marked with star-shaped circuit tags, not single grades. Each tag colour covers two V-grades, and neighbouring circuits overlap by one grade, per the gym's own 'Grading System' chart on its routesetting page. The gym says climbers should try boulders from at least two circuits because of the overlap.
